Asgardia has to produce to create the economy. What can only gain from the task of protecting the world from the danger of asteroids? The main thing to do is to remove the precious mines from the asteroid. This work will be done sooner. Because it is said that the asteroid mine will sustain humanity for many years. It is clear that we need these mines if we consider that the world resources will soon be ending and we will need to move from the earth. The very important question here is whether asteroid mining is to be done for humanity or to be done as a loot.It seems that some companies are preparing for 'asteroid mining'. If humanity is not considered here, the same inequality and ecological collapse in the world can be carried to the outer space. Article 1 of the Outer Space Treaty says that the exploration and use of outer space is FREE, and that these activities must be done in the interests of the BENEFIT OF MANKIND. The unacceptable MOON TREATY also says 'the extraction and distribution of resources in the celestial bodies on the outer space is carried out with an agreed international regime'.
In this case we have to face the fact that the economic activities to be carried out in outer space are disciplined. For this, we need to update the Outer Space Treaty on our agenda. If the update is not performed, the breakage of this agreement can not be prevented and unfair competition will take place. Asgardia would be good to lead this update initiative. Because the initiative of a new state which is in the sense of ONE HUMANITY-ONE UNITY may be both effective and sympathetic. Thus, the interests of states (and nations) will be equally provided, and technical challenges (Bogota Declaration etc.) will be addressed and help to advance forward humanity.
